A bilingual, multi-instrumentalist and creative force of nature, jar-e's sound celebrates the spontaneity of a muse that has led him across the world. With his latest release "War Songs and the Muse," he blends the music he soaked up living in Mexico, Greece, Britain and Cuba with the jazz, hip hop and rock he grew up with in Hampton Roads, VA. He wrote the album with the help of Mexican, Russian, Polish and Korean immigrants who gave him feedback on what were then works-in-progress as he taught them English at schools in Brooklyn, NY and Asheville, NC. Like his influences that stretch from Manu Chao and Joao Gilberto to Motown greats like Stevie Wonder, jar-e finds places where lines blur and music is born fresh beyond cliche.

jar-e's new album "War Songs and the Muse" comes out April 17th.

"No one can say this bilingual artist hasn’t done his homework; jar-e channeled his experiences living in Mexico, Greece, England and Cuba to make this jumpy, modish disc." -- Mountain XPress
